Running, always running...

  • Jan. 26th, 2007 at 12:48 PM

Housework done. Dinner planned. Chicken defrosting. Hot tea beside me. Kiddos at school. Whew....

This morning Maurice Broaddus [info]mbroaddus and I were comparing the steel rods in our back [Scoliosis surgeries as teenagers] and I found some delightful pics online that I thought I'd share w/y'all.

This is not me, but these are Harrington Rods. Mine start higher up and go longer. My spine is fused except for my neck and the last 2 vertebrae.

This is an upclose look at the rods and misc. metal fixtures used in my back:

Delightful isn't it?

And yes, it hurts. Continuously. Every day since I was 13 years old.

Okay...so medical oddities aside, the news for the day....

Submissions are set to get sent out as soon as I wrap my journal entry up. The collection is now in the order that I want it in. I've edited the stories twice now, and am going to do a technical run through now to make sure everything is in the manuscript properly [no broken lines, etc]. That is on the slate for submission soon.

Christopher and I went to eat last night, then we dropped by his CD store and the World Market [I still have 40% off 1 item coupons!]. I scored some cool stuff for the new kitchen [retro 40-50s]. Whoot!

Words of terror from Kiddo#2:
While watching Blues Clues vhs for the 20th time, she says to me, "If you and Cwis don't get me a sister, I'm going to have to keep dese Bwues Coos videos for the west of my life."

If ever there was a valid reason for providing siblings, getting rid of Blues Clues videos is a very good one!

Need to go work on the girl crib quilt....and that's the news, folks. Carry on.
